مقاله توسعه معانی کلمات در قرآن با گذر زمان در نشریه صحیفه مبین در سال 1386
در مقاله حاضر تعریف وجوه، جایگاه و پیشینه آن مورد بررسی قرار گرفته سپس نظر برخی از موافقان و مخالفان وجوه معنا (وحدت معنا) مطرح گردیده است. نویسنده برخی از اشکالات وجوه معنا را ذکر می کند و بر این باور است که وجوه معنا تنها در مواردی کاربردی است که پای مسائل دقیق علمی و اعتقادی در میان نباشد.
وی در ادامه پیشنهاد می کند به جای وجوه یک واژه باید معنای مشترک یافته و آنگاه درجات معنای آن واژه را با تأمل در محدوده سیاق آیات به کار رفته، تخمین زده و آن را تا رسیدن به معنایی شامل و کاربردی، کامل کنیم. بر این اساس برای رسیدن به معنای مشترک مواردی را ذکر کرده و به عنوان نمونه سه واژه قرآنی «جبّار»، «صدع» و «ولی» را مورد بررسی قرار می دهد.

Degrees of Meaning in the Quran

One of the applications of the 'science of polysemes and/or homonyms (wujuh) and synonyms (naza ir)' (Wrn al-wujuh wa al-naza ir) is in field of linguistics and philology (fiqh al-lugha). The parameters of this science were initially confined to the exegesis of the Quranic words but with the passage of a few centuries, its scope was extended to other sciences as well. This article only covers the 'exegetical' range of meaning of the words; thus three Quranic words are examined for this purpose. The study of polysemy (wujuh) may offer a quick response and similarly the examination of synonymy (naza ir) is also to a certain extent helpful. However, none of these can encompass what is expected from a 'meaning' for profound Quranic words. It is therefore recommended that instead of presenting wujuh, a 'common meaning' is found. Following that, the degrees of meaning can be worked out by focusing on the stylistic framework of the relevant verses so that the range of meanings of the word in question can be examined by arriving at an applicable and comprehensive meaning. As an example, the word wali and its different meanings in the Quranic contexts are discussed.
